The MTA official word is four years, (also stated on the service change notices posted around) and is due to the viaduct project, (and is give or take as with any project).
Permanent or indefinite speculation on this or any other site is just that, speculation (FWIW). No discrepancy, as one is the MTA's official position, the rest are not.
