I've got a trip on Amtrak 5&6 next week to Denver. I notice lately there's been some really late trains, and I'll chalk that up to the curveball the weather has thrown us lately. I've been on the road in the auto over the last few day's and it hasn't been pretty.

However, is there any special projects or choke point that's contributing to delays?

And is there any interesting stuff west of GBB that I should look for? Not related to delays, but fun or interesting to a train guy? I ride 3/4 all the time, so I'm familiar with what to expect as a passenger on Amtrak (that's why I've posted this in the BNSF forum - no Amtrak-related question here). It's been ten years since I've been on the CZ so I don't really remember much other than lots of farm fields across NE and IA. Unfortunately I'm not going west of DEN, where the real scenery starts.
