My father-in-law to be, (Ed) is obsessed with trains and anything to do with trains. We recently took an old car to the junk yard, and a guy we know had found an old Railroad Crossing sign and kept it for him. So, Ed is now interested on how far this thing dates back. He said he's seen it in pictures that date back to at least the 1920-1930's. The sign itself is steel coated in porceilin. It has the worlds RAILROAD CROSSING on it, and its one of the X shaped signs. The letters have red knobs over them with a reflecting like material. Heres a site that has the pictures on it.
