Urgent(ish) - Photos of C855

Guys,

I'm working on getting an O scale C855 painted. There's precisely one half-decent colour photo of the C855 on the net as far as I can find:

I urgently need a few more. Anyone got any? Anyone know someone who might have some old slides buried in collections? I'd be happy to pay for them to be professionally scanned.

Many thanks GA, but I found all of those already through google - they're some help but really not quite what I was looking for. I need high resolution and colour.

A philistine would, at this point, suggest that the 855 never got photographed because too many people were afraid of breaking their cameras...

"High resolution" kind of far fetched, for pics from the mid 60's, no? Same for high color resolution, by the standards of today. Lucky for you, the UP used the same paint colors, and lettering and logos as well, for almost 40 years. Imagine those of us, who try to model stuff, from B&W pics only, with no color pics at all, being available. Talk about challenging.........

Oh I've seen some beautiful sharp 35mm slides from the '60s and '70s - they produce high-res scans just as nice as anything from even a high-end digital. There was a lovely original slide of a C855 on ebay a week or two ago. Of course I bid on it. Of course I decided to bid $100 just to be sure of getting the thing. Of course it finally sold for $215...!!!

Yes I emailed the high bidder asking very nicely if I could please have a scan. Yes I got ignored!

$215.00? YIKES!!!! Of Course, I have also paid well over a sane amount, for an article from period advertising, and yes, I have spent close to $100.00 for an original slide. Lucky I was outbid on some that went higher than that. Unfortunately, I won some other auctions, that to this day, make me wonder "what the hell was I thinking"? Over $1000.00 for an original LV flag, comes to mind, as one that might have been better, not bidding on......... (stuff from the John Nash estate was SO hard to resist, though...... )

Unfortunately you have to be a member to see the full-size pics, so I signed-up for membership, gave all my details - and *then* the site asked for my <expletive> credit card! They expect you to PAY to access the discussions! Is this site 'legit'? I'd never heard of it before.
