Norfolk Southern has placed 5277, 5282, and 5290 up for sale. We all know that NS has been purging four axle power, but I believe this is the first one that affects Southern vets.

I guess with CSX having over 1500 GP-38/39/40 variants that's what we will be seeing!

It's unlikely that the head end box is for Extech, it has SOU reporting marks. Brick cars almost always have Ohio Central reporting marks (CUOH), though Railbox cars can also be used.

So two straight weeks with the NS pair on the ol' Southern. Hopefully that trend continues next week and the weather is good as I may be able to see the train next week.

Thanks for the continued reports!

While on the way home from vocational school today, I saw some sort of crew doing work next to the railroad crossing on Ridgeway Road. Looked like they were doing some sort of survey work but I'm not sure.

NS 5634 shf + 12 Woodhavens this week, approaching Maxwell Rd at 4:40 in the pm. Saw a survey crew at Hope Rd in Tinton Falls yesterday as well, hopefully that crossing will be replaced.
