Hello,
On the first sunny morning in awhile, SLQ westbound 393 departed Island Pond at 0745 with the following:

GP40-2 3035
RM-1 804
GP40-2 3803
6 centerbeam flats
3 gondolas
6 covered hoppers
15 hi-cube boxcars
2 boxcars
5 tank cars
10 propane cars

That's 47 cars total, including 4 loads and 42 empties. Among the mix were 9 empty LW hi-cubes, which I think were coming out of storage, and 3 gondolas, which likely brought in track materials for SLR.
Have a great day,
Fritz

Hello,
Today's SLQ westbound 393 departed Island Pond around 0740 with the following:

QG SD40U 6904
RM-1 804
GP40-3 3803
23 centerbeam flats
3 covered hoppers
7 tank cars
21 propane cars
15 hi-cube boxcars
7 boxcars

That's 76 cars total, including 1 load and 75 empties. Long train on account of no trains in the U.S. on Monday night due to the holiday.

There were 10 lumber flats waiting to be unloaded at RCP.

It also looks like the two crossing replacements are nearly done (as is the paving of the main roads through town).
Have a great day,
Fritz

Both crews were on the ball tonight, with trains swapped and both out of Hillside Ave. before 22:15. 393 was 3805-803-3008 with 28 cars, mostly propane empties/paper service tanks, and 4 boxes at the tail.
394 was 3007-3803-805 with 30 cars, good cut of boxes up front, with a good chunk of lumber in the middle, paper service tanks at the rear.

George,
Casey is correct: Mostly empties from RCP in Island Pond (10 today) but also some from Maine Wood Treaters in Mechanic Falls (3 today) and maybe a few from Lewiston Junction/Auburn or even Pan Am. Almost 100% loads eastbound, empties westbound.
Best,
Fritz

Hello,
Today's SLQ eastbound 394 crossed the U.S. Canada border at Norton at 1953 with the following:

GP40-2 3007
QG SD40U 6904
QG GP40 3105
6 centerbeam flats
12 covered hoppers
9 tank cars
9 propane cars
4 hi-cube boxcars
2 hi-sided gondolas

That's 42 cars total, including 40 loads and 2 empties.

Also SLR has been de-brushing the right of way from Norton to east of Island Pond. Lots of "old" photo opportunities are re-appearing.
Best,
Fritz

Hello,
Busy week so I am late in posting ...

On Wednesday, July 17th, the SLQ westbound 393 reached the U.S. Canada border at Norton at 0826. Unfortunately, I didn't arrive until 0826, so I missed the order of the locomotives, but here is what the train had:

GP40-2 3008
GP40-2 3035
QG GP40-2W 3014
6 centerbeam flats
1 covered hopper
6 tank cars
9 propane cars
7 hi-cube boxcars

That's 29 cars total, including 6 loads and 23 empties.

Last night (Thursday, July 18th), the SLQ eastbound 394 arrived in Island Pond at 1920 with the following:

GP40-3 3804
RM-1 805
QG GP40 3105
12 centerbeam flats
3 covered hoppers
7 hi-cube boxcars
8 tank cars
15 propane cars

That's 45 cars total, including 43 loads and 2 empties. After pulling 5 empties and spotting 5 loads at RCP, they headed east at 1956.
Have a good - if very hot - day,
Fritz
