Does SEPTA have enough coaches to make this viable?
If they don’t already, they definitely will after those CRRC coaches come in.

Too bad they scrapped those six Jersey Transit cars; aside from the 'borrowed' trucks they didn't look that bad. I've seen worse looking cars still in service.

Were they actually scrapped? I know Google Earth views can be aged but latest one I saw had them still sitting ( laying ) adjacent to Roberts Yard and along with what appears to be the SL-V mock up. Not sure if the Comet brake systems or trainlines would even have been compatible with the Sprinters though.

The Comet I trailers were scrapped along with the SL V mock-up quite some time ago. The cab cars live on on the gel trains.

Being that they were without trucks, they would most likely have been scrapped on site as was the F7 from the gel train.

I’m guessing the next schedule change will be daylight savings? Can anyone else confirm?
Lansdale/Doylestown line can definitely use a push-pull especially for few of their express trains especially the afternoon express 6576 which does express from Temple University to North Wales.
ZS: Push-Pull trains operating on the Lansdale-Doylestown Line in the past have had three major
problems that caused SEPTA to withdraw them from operation each time they were scheduled:
1-The trains ran consistently late and was not able to adequately hold the schedule.
2-There were complaints about the motor noise from neighbors around the Doylestown Yard.
3-The power limitations of the small substation on the Doylestown Branch.

A new push-pull peak hour express service to Doylestown could be: (PM Peak)
North Wales (first stop), Pennbrook, Lansdale, Colmar, Chalfont, New Britain and Doylestown.

Reverse expresses (similar to what is operated on the Wilmington-Newark Line) can be added to
run the P/P equipment to/from to Center City making those same stops along with Ambler and/or
Fort Washington if the decision is made to not store push-pull train(s) overnight in Doylestown.
This would add extra reverse commuter options for the Lansdale-Doylestown Line.

All of the issues that were listed were valid when the AEM'-7's were operating.

I think the ACS-64's have changed the playing field somewhat as they are more powerful, allowing for better acceleration, have regenerative braking which returns power to the system, and are SILENT when not operating, vs. the blowers and corn poppers with the meatballs. In addition, according to Septa's website, the Doylestown substation has been replaced along with most of the ex-RDG subs on the other branches.

Pushed back one more week, to the 18th.
More engineers need to be qualified on ACS or push pull in general.

Yea what MARC cars?

Were they successful at leasing the MARC cars, then? I had heard rumors that they were looking to procure a few so that they could give all the idle ACS-64s something to do.
