A coach in the "Tichy" (1949-55) paint scheme that has "escaped" from the Dunton yard shop area. When did this happen?
Not sure when this one happened, but it preceded a double decker which suffered the same fate at the hand of a car mover who moved on to become a General Foreman. He did similar work as a foreman and so was offered to the Transportation Department where he served as a Transportation Manager. We know he reads this, so we won't name him. Today, as then, a Republican committeeman. Must have been some ride.
I know of at least four MU's that visited the Van Wyck Boulevard or Expressway in this manner, though only two actually became partially airborne. It was downhill from Jamaica via the Lead, and as Dunton was a repair shop it wasn't uncommon to service cars with faulty brakes. Bad combination.
