They made a few trips to Peabody this week due to the long weekend including a late Friday drop off. The crew left the train off Bridge street in Salem for the holiday weekend.

I believe its derailed - engine complete off and one truck of the trailing covered hopper based on photos from a friend this morning.

Well that is one way to park it, at least they can rest assure no one will take it for a joy ride. LOL Guess it will be there past Monday. I didn't have time to take a close look while driving.

Yup, it was derailed. A crew with a crane was there yesterday morning putting the train back on the tracks. They also had an other engine on site to move the train and then take the engine home.

BO-1/507 worked Rousselot today. They took out 7 bones and 2 acids and left 6 bones and 2 acids

An article in the Salem News today notes that work about to begin on Rt. 1 in Peabody includes the removal of the rail crossing near Lowell Street:

"Crews will be installing construction signs, excavating and removing railroad tracks and installing new drainage structures on this stretch of Route 1, MassDOT said. The work is scheduled to start Sunday, Aug. 25..."
