The P32-BWH is considered to be a design varient of GE's Dash 8 40B Roadswitcher, and was morphed into the "test Bed" of the P-40/42 design
after Amtrak ordered the P-40 from GE Erie.
Protect Duty is one of it's roles for Amtrak.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but P42 #145 is finally back in service after its garbage truck fight in early 2018, and in fresh Phase III Heritage paint. They even redid the “1971 ... 2011” decals on both sides. There seem to be a few tiny differences between its original and refreshed heritage paint job, like the font and size of the 1971-2011 lettering and the curve of the stripe around the nose.

Just now, waiting for a train out of South Station, I saw what I at first thought must be #448, but on closer inspection it was a single Amfleet coach with a Genesis diesel at each end. This short train pulled out of South Station a few minutes after #67. I've seen a similar combination parked at Portland, Maine, but this is the first time I've seen it at South Station. I wonder who was on it and where it might be headed.

All Downeaster power gets cycled to Southhampton St for Inspection(92 day),otherwise gets towed to Albany for repairs
Same for the NPCU's
Not sure of the cycle, but all food service cars get "BUG Bombed" per health Dept requirements, then cleaned.

Anyone know anything more about it?

Former N&W office car LAMBERTS POINT; recently acquired by the owners of COLONIAL CRAFTS and SALISBURY BEACH.

I believe it will be on train 69(07) from ALB to MTR, along with those other 2 private cars.
