The IT unit #1072 is leading NS 310. The train is currently in Bison Yard and will head east on the Tier this afternoon.

After it came through as a DPU on 310 on Friday, I've been told that the Conrail unit is leading 309 back west on the Tier today and is called to depart East Binghamton yard at 10:20am

The Southern unit is leading NS 310 today. The train just changed crews in Depew a short time ago, so #8099 will make a daylight run on the Tier today.

The Ere unit is home again! She is DPU on NS 310 today. The crew goes OD in greater Buffalo @ 11 AM, so #1068 will be on the Tier this afternoon.
Also, the CR unit was the 2nd unit on NS 22K yesterday. Number 8098 should return on NS 23K in a day or two.

Update: the Erie unit is leading NS 310. There had been conflicting reports about whether #1068 was leading or DPU, but photos there finally settled the debate.

NS 310 crossed the Genesee Arch @ 2:05 PM with the Erie unit #1068 leading.

NS 8098, the Conrail heritage unit led 23K across the bridge at Letchworth about 7:10 pm this evening.
NS 310 has the PRR unit as the trailing head-end power. The train just left Broadway in greater Buffalo, so #8102 should be on the Tier soon.

Yesterday (Wednesday) while on the train from Penn station, NY into Jersey, I could see an unusual NS engine in the ex-Erie Croxton yard. It had a bright red front and the back had what looked like a white ladder horizontal on a black background. It was too far away to get a number. Can anyone identify it?
NS 5642, the Training First Responders unit was in NJ yesterday and that fits the description of what you saw.
Its not a heritage unit but the NS 911, the first responders unit, was the second unit of two on 310 this morning. On Attica hill at 0910.
NS 1068, the ERIE heritage unit, led train 309 through Attica at 0910 this morning.
NS 8099, the Southern heritage unit is leading train 205. Arrived at Cass St. in Hornell around 7:00pm to meet 22K.
