Suffern to Bay Head in 1986-- how?

Never heard of this -- on weekends in summer 1986 NJ Transit had a train from Suffern to Bay Head and back. Did it run thru the Erie tunnel or what? (Schedule Harmon Cove to Long Branch was 80 minutes

According to AJT on an old post "The train went around the wye at West End onto the M&E, and then up the Center Street Branch behind Hudson tower, onto PATH for a couple of rail lengths, then onto the Corridor."
