I'm growing to like it a little bit more myself. Though if they added some Alpert-era pinstripes or even late 1940s EP-4-style pinstripes across the whole locomotive it would have looked very sharp.
Now how else could they have painted the rebuilt units?
1) Black carbody with red cab (similar to the McGinnis RS-3, RS-11/DL-701, GP-9, etc.) with the red and black along the sides reversed in order (or remaining all black) and the CTrail logo staying in place.
2) Same as above but with Alpert-era white pinstripes (as in the C424/5s).
At least CDOT wants to continue using black red and white as the livery for their rail operations so NO complaints there
