WANTED: Tech info on GE 5GT584D1 Traction Gen.

Looking for any tech service (MI's and /or DRP's) information that ALCO produced regarding the GE 5GT584D1 Traction Generator used in the ALCO S-6 .According to a wiring diaagram that I have, it was also used in WM S-6 151-152 along with some EMD switches.

This Traction Generator was used in some export models that ALCO built also.

Please contact me off list if you have anything regarding this model GE product.

Why was a GE generator used in EMDs? EMD had their own electrical gear since about the late 1930s. The S6 was from the 1950s. Did the EMDs get it from some trade in?

I am not sure what you're asking? ALCO used this Generator, not EMD.
