Recent land clearing and building demo in Abington on the southwest side of the Summer St crossing has unearthed a bumping post. I am unable to verify the presence of a siding at that location with the UCONN valuation maps or any other source online. Can anyone identify if indeed their ever was a siding there?

Used to be double tracked. After single tracking, topo maps 1964 1968 1978 1979 show siding coming in from the South to the SW corner at Summer St. Aerials from that time frame show what seems to be a factory there, where now there is a garage at end of Woodlands way.

Thanks for the info. The buildings and surrounding area recently cleared had fuel storage tanks and several outbuildings so I wonder if it was a former fuel dealer.

Town records indicate tanks onsite last used by Carey Heating Oil Co in early 1980's.

Thanks for the info.
