Does the Housatannic RR have an ex-EL RS-3M or am I mistaken? Also CR converted a few ex-EL RS-3s to RS-3ms in the late '70s. Where are they now? By the way, I agree it would be better to have the old 244 prime mover in the the RS-3ms but sometimes it takes a heart transplant to keep the patient alive so I can live with an EMD 567 prime mover...

Recent updates on RS-3 survivors:

1. Buffalo Southern has an ex-D&H RS-3. It is out-of-service, with a broken crank shaft. Check out a pic on jamestownrailfan.net

2. GVT owner Monte Verde has an ex-NYC RS-3 for sale in PA. According to Railpace, it needs alot of work to be restored to running condition.

ConnDot 605 ex Conrail 9905 exx Erie Lackawanna 1050 nee DL&W 912 is a sister unit to the Housatonic's. Both were rebuilt by Conrail in '79 due in part to the fact that they have 24 brake stands. Interesting that they wind up so close to each other after so many years.
