CSX X38707 pulled apart took a while to put it back together and pump air which from what I heard was close to an hour. Train was quite long heard the conductor say 16000ft?? Deadhead crew offered to pilot over the West Shore but that was shot down.

Acela #2167 delayed ~20 min+ from Boston to NYC in area of Pelham Bay due to plastic caught in catenary. Dispatcher issued Form D for train to drop pantographs and coast through problem area (milepost 9.5 to 9.0). Probably related to high winds all day.

Train was 5'45" late into CHI.
No corresponding delays to any eastbound trains.
Wolverine #353(27) probably was the train involved in a fatal grade crossing collision in Grass Lake, MI: Amtrak vs. car crash closes E. Michigan Avenue in Grass Lake. The update linked to on that page reports that the driver was a 53-year-old man from Ann Arbor who ignored the warning lights and working gates.

Yet another grade crossing collision and a P-42 with front end damage.
