I'm spending a few days in Blue Mounain, ON and was wondering about operations in Barrie. Is this branchline CN? Is there still freight service on this line? Any information about current ops and history greatly appreciated.

The north-south line into Barrie (Newmarket Sub) is owned by Metrolinx, used to be CN, abandoned between Barrie and Washago.

There is a north-south line west of that which is the CP MacTier transcon.

The east-west line into Barrie crossing the CP: this wiki article may help - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrie_Collingwood_Railway" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks much. The track in Collingwood and south has been lifted and is now a rail trail. Track through Stayner is still in place, but havily overgrown.
