I was doing some driving around the Suffern, NY area recently and am curious about the NS branch that runs East from Suffern through Airmont, Tallman, toward Monsey, NY.
A few questions.....How active is this line nowadays, meaning how often does the local run on the branch?
Rails appeared to be clean of rust, despite rain this weekend.....
Next question is...where does this line terminate? I was looking at an aerial map and the line, or at least the right of way seems to run all the way to Monsey where it terminates near a local park at Rte 59.....I could not tell looking at the map and satellite view whether the rails ran all the way to the end of the right of way or not
And lastly, how many customers are served on this line?
