Scotty,

Please post a link to the article when it comes out. Many of us probably don't read the Conway Sun on a regular basis at all and would likely miss the article if it doesn't get posted here.

From The Conway Daily Sun:
The Conway Daily Sun wrote:BARTLETT — “Rome wasn't built in a day. So, we know this will take a bit of time.”

That's what Bartlett Roundhouse Preservation Club member Jim Abbott said about the club's long-term goals for its hoped-for restoration of the 1887-built facility last week, while taking a tour of the wooden structure on the eve of the Conway Scenic Railroad's 37th annual Railfans' Weekend, Sept. 17-18. The club had a booth at the railfans' event last weekend.

Hello everyone,
Just to let you know the Bartlett Roundhouse Preservation Club will be holding it's first annual Model train show at the Bartlett Elementary School, 1313 US Route 302, Bartlett N.H. on May 19th ,2012 from 10AM-4PM. Vendors and many operational layouts and raffles. Admission is 14-adult $5. 6-13 $2 and 5-under free. Net proceeds go to help restore the 1887 Maine Central Railroad Roundhosue and the equipment now stored there which includes Portland Terminal Plow 68 and Maine Central Boxcar 35059.

The Roundhouse has been buttoned up for the winter. The State of NH will be doing some sistering of Rafters (2) this spring to complete the roofwork. Then an engineer will be coming in to look over the Roundhouse to see what the next step in restoration should be.

Thank you for your continued interest in the Bartlett Roundhouse!

It is with deep sadness that I have to report the loss of long time CSRR emloyee and Bartlett Roundhouse Preservation club Vice President, Tim Zimont after a long bought with cancer. Cards for Tim's family may be mailed C/O Conway Scenic Railroad P.O. Box 1947 North Conway, NH 03860. He will be missed.

Earlier this summer the State of NH came in and sistered the last of the broken rafters in the roundhouse thus completing the roof work and giving the roundhouse a stable roof for the next 25-30 years! We are still having problems with vandels painting the building. It is difficult to secure the building as many of the members live out of the area.

More information as it comes in.
Hope all is well with everyone, as always, thanks for your interest in the Bartlett Roundhouse

Congratulations! It's great to see an active group in that area maintaining such an important piece of the local railroad heritage.
