I was over that way a few times in the past couple of weeks and would drive by the 1325 each time. Nature is definitely trying to take over. Doesn't seem that long ago I was able to get a pic of her without all those weeds trying to cover her up.

I bet the 4215 and 1320 are still in Midville as well.

I also noticed that Statesboro Grain has started shipping by rail again (yay!). For the past 2-3 years their track was either dormant or full of sugar hoppers being stored.

I don't think I've mentioned it, but I set up quite a few "fan" points on Foursquare for GSR. If you have the app on your smart phone, you can check in and steal some "mayorships" from me!

Off the top of my head, I set up check-in points as follows, from Metter northwards:

Metter end of line
Metter scrap
Pulaski siding/crossing
Register siding/crossing
GAF siding/crossing
Jimps siding/crossing
Downtown frog
E. Main St. siding/crossing
Howard Lumber siding/crossing
US 301 N siding/crossing
Fertilizer siding/crossing near 301N
North of the US 301 siding, I think I set up a point.
Dover yard.

Is that Matthews Rd or Davis St? Here is Southern States, between 301N and 80: https://foursquare.com/v/georgia-southe ... 2300b0db22

The siding at Statesboro Grain has only one switch, with a dirt pile at the end right beside the main entrance to the facility. They loaded only a few cars recently. We haven't placed anymore empties at Dover in a few weeks.

About 3 years or so with no rail service and now they're loading cars again..........that's always good news.

Davis St. ends on the south side of 301, while Matthews Rd. starts on the north side of 301 several yards west of where Davis St ends.

Matthews Road actually ends at Statesboro Grain, a little further down from Fletcher Dr. It turns into a dirt road, crosses the mainline, and turns into Francis Scott Dr. which loops around and runs back into Fletcher Dr.

I did go a ways down that dirt road to the crossing, but turned back there as I thought I might be getting to someone's farm. I've picked up the line back at Maria Sorrell or Old River heading out North on Main. Is it far from there?

You were a little ways north. You should have seen the grain silos directly on the other side of the track from the dirt road before it crosses the track.
