Hello everyone, I wasnt sure if I should post in the Lansdale Clsuer thread or start a new thread and if the moderator wants to lump this into the existing Lansdale Cluster thread then be my guest. Last night I had the pleasure to meet up with a good friend NOMIS and gave chase to the W230 train(is that the actual symbol) from Glenside to Ivyland. The train followed Septa 589 out of Lansdale. The 2 GE's bracketed 2 tank cars. The train was friendly and spoke with us for a few while awaiting the signal to start north up the New Hope branch. The return was quick with only 1 tank car. Work is that the 1 locomotive in Ivyland that is going to Maine will be moved next week.
I was hoping that we can follow these trains movements, locomotives used and cars carried and post them here. What is the PNR schedule for serving the Doylestown,New Hope and Bethlehem Branches? How often does CSX C746 come up to Lansdale from Woodbourne? Last night the CSX 746 came up from Woodbourne to Lansdale with 1 car bracketed by 2 Geeps. After delievery, the car went down the Stoney Creek to Norristown then up the Morrisville Line back to Woodbourne.

She is rumored to be finished for the Lansdale festivities later this month; this is a 'teaser' shot from the NHI shops this weekend. From limited info gathered from station folks, the green primer areas will be black upon completion, with hand-painted lettering on the unit. This is all the info that I have at the moment.....

I took a ride to the PNRR for the first time. Even though it was tied down and there was no activity on this Saturday, I'm impressed by their power.

Both C39-8s and their ex-CN GP9RM-

More of the GP9RM

PNRR 5315 SD40-2W still in CN livery-

The other SD40-2W painted in their custom PNRR livery. Too bad about that tank car in the first link-

I'm not sure how well they run but I've always thought the C39-8s looked very mean-

Also while I was there, a SEPTA wire inspection train was waiting with a crew on board.

Everyone:

Visiting relatives in Souderton/Telford has gotten me interested in the Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad...
The former RDG Bethlehem Branch is easy walking distance along with both the Souderton and Telford Stations...

I searched the Railroad.net archives and found this topic to add these links:
www.pnrailroad.com
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylva ... n_Railroad

Watching a freight move at Telford Station yesterday powered by SD40-2W 5342 and C39-8 8212 inspired me to search
for more information about what was once the Lansdale Cluster freight service...

I recall an article written by Dale Woodland that was titled "Six Axle Short Line" about the PNER...
Which rail magazine carried this article?
