Where did you find that the rails were pulled in 1961? This has been a very interesting thread for what little is documented for this short segment of line.

I am a lifelong resident of Nescopeck, and can distinctly recall this event; a close relative worked in Rock Glen at the time.

Hearsay from my father, he remembers a Lehigh Valley timetable showing Parlor Car service on their own line through Hazleton to Tomhicken with no indication of how it got there!
