Noticed a few ex-Pennsy E-8's showing up in post merger photos with freight pilots, specifically PRR 5903, 5713A and 5886A per Yanosey's PC roster. My question is were these P-company modifications, second hand buys, wreck rebuilds or PC "doings?" I have combed my library and have no PRR shots of E-8 with freight pilots and know there were numerous variations in antenna stantions, headlights, grabs, schemes etc. curious if these included the freight pilot vs passenger style as I'm doing three shells up as EP-22's and want to "spread" them out along the various schemes and variations. Wish I had Staufer's book as reference, as it stands I'm once again dependent on "the kindness of strangers"
