Very interesting new documentary on Penn Station. Most of it (much like the GCT doc from several years back) focuses on the visioning, planning, construction, etc. of the station and the tunnel system.

Magnificent video. Illustrates what a crime tearing down Penn Station was. There is a lot of interesting information given; for instance, that the tunnels move up and down with the tides. Years ago I heard that the tunnels were floating in the silt. But there also are a lot of comments by historians and authors- "experts" that strike me as being worthless. They are worth putting up with to see the classic pictures of the station and tunnels being built.
In my Penn Central days, I heard that the PC had run a coal train through the tunnels as some sort of test. The idea seems insane to me.
