I wonder what else Penn Central's successors own? It says that they sold GCT and 156 miles of Metro North track for 80 million in 2007 to a real estate venture group. Other searches show they attempted to sue Amtrak and are a partial share holder in the company.

I'm surprised Stratford hasn't been abandoned south of I-95 past the last customer, Maine Plastics. The businesses along it on the other side of the highway have been overturned to such a degree that there's virtually no potential for ever developing new rail customers on it. And the tracks are in rough, rough shape between the Grainger parking lot and Route 113. But the whole thing is still showing active designation on the CT State Rail Map and CT State Rail Plan.
