Former NYC/PC/CR Brakeman, Conductor and Yardmaster Frank Suhr ("Dinger") passed away yesterday at his home at age 92. He began in the Rochester roundhouse as a fire-tender in 1943, and went braking the following year. He was a Yardmaster at Goodman Street Yard from the mid 60's to mid 70's before returning to train service. Frank was a gifted artist who turned out some very accurate pencil drawings of NYC steam. He was also a WWII veteran. He was a great resource for how things "used to be" on the local scene and will be missed.
