I'm restoring an Aurora dater from the Auditor's Office of the NYNH&HRR. Does anyone know how to dismantle the striker section?

Go to the RCAI web site at http://www.railroadiana.org and contact them. There was a guy, from the Chicago area I believe, who used to advertise in their Express magazine on a regular basis who specialized in restoring old railroad ticket validator machines. They should be able to put you in contact with him. Good luck.

I think the person's name is Ray Weart out of Chicagoland. He has some new-old-stock validator ribbons should you want to go that far.

The top part of the striker twists off (there may be a set screw holding it) and inside is another screw which releases the rubber pad assembly.
