What line is this that is abandoned in Stockbridge going across the river to Glendale?
looks like a spur from the curve by Glendale Middle Road across the river to Route 183.

I've tried the usual maps on line, and can't find any reference to this one.
Topo's show nothing in 1897, by 1946, it was abandoned wihtout notes.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

It is very likely that what you saw were remains of the Berkshire Street Railway trolley line that once operated between Pittsfield, MA and Gt. Barrington, MA which lasted up in to the late 1920's. It virtually paralled the former New Haven RR's Berkshire Line (now the Housatonic RR) between these two cities.
