Does anyone know when the Locomotive Repair Shop was built in Hornell, New York. I'm thinking somewhere around 1924. The company my grandfather worked for built the shop. Bates & Rogers Construction Corporation out of Chicago was the builder.
The shop has existed in one form or another almost since the arrival of the railroad in 1850.
The big expansion was in 1923.
