My friend Joe Cooney, who is building the virtual Erie route for the Microsoft Train Simulator platform, wrote me the following message

"The 1908 Goshen Quadrangle shows a third track extending from Greycourt to Chester on the station
side of the Erie Mainline and that 3rd track terminates in Chester so I am assuming that was placed
to allow servicing the Chester businesses without fouling mainline. I will put that track (in the virtual)
in to serve the industries shown on the Sanborn (Insurance) map even though that map shows two sidings diverging off
the Eastbound mainline.... something I'm certain the Erie would not have done in real life (too much
maintenance and derailment headaches)... the 3rd track makes much more sense operationally
so I will put that in place...."

Sincerely,
Walter
