Did the EL ever do 567B to BC conversions on any of their power ?

The Erie Lackawanna had 567 BC conversions to their prime movers. But the conversions were done at EMD. They also had AC prime movers

When a 567 A or B engine was in need of re manufacturing it was shipped back to EMD to be done. When these engines were shipped back they were re assembled and installed into the next unit requiring that type of engine. It could be a GP7 F3 F7 ,wherever.

Great hearing from you Doug.

There was a point, I believe in the late 1960s or early 1970s, where AC and BC conversion was adopted as the remanufacturing standard for 567A and 567B engines rebuilt at EMD. After that time it became part of the "basic" services listing in the factory remanufacturing catalog.
