Hi All:

Have been tracing this line in Google Maps etc. Can anybody fill me in on the line from Abbott Road yard area right to the Terminal?

Questions I have -

When was this part of the line officially abandoned?
When did the drawbridge over Buffalo River come out?
Anybody have pics of the drawbridge intact?
Was the entire line elevated between where the passenger line split off the freight line to Tifft Yard etc and the Terminal?
If so, when were all the bridges etc razed?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Frank,

The City Branch lasted through Erie Lackawanna into early Conrail. I don't have exact dates at the moment, but
will do some digging. I took my son to the Buffalo Zoo today and driving back to Rochester, we crossed over and
under the old ROW a couple times.

I'll see what I can dig-up and will get back.

In the meantime, I did find this article.....and this site has a lot of good old railroad info from this area! Part of the
old terminal is still in use as trainsheds, but dismantling of the terminal itself began in 1979.
