Preserved MILW passenger cars?

How many preserved MILW passenger cars exist? Looking for cars that are MILW heritage or restored to MILW paint.

There are three former Milwaukee cars in Portland, Oregon on a siding at East Portland Jct. where the Oregon Pacific Railroad interchanges with Union Pacific. They are painted BN-ish green and white and I don't know the numbers, but they are a Valley-series Parlor car, an Olympian Hiawatha baggage-dorm and a coach that I think is from the 480-series. I don't know what they are used for but they appear to be well maintained and connected to utilities. They've been there for years.

The Crooked River Dinner Train on the City of Prineville Railway in central Oregon uses two former Milwaukee coaches. They are painted in Milwaukee-ish colors; appropriate since they are pulled by one of two City of Prineville former Milwaukee "GP20s" (rebuilt GP9s) in Milwaukee-ish orange and black. There is also a former baggage car painted to match that I don't think is a Milwaukee car, but its been heavily modified so I'm not sure. According to http://trainweb.org/web_lurker/MILWf/ and http://trainweb.org/web_lurker/MILW/ 9 of the 10 Super Domes, 3 of the 6 Creek-series Skytops and 3 of the 4 Rapids-series Skytops still exist.

These are restored to Amtrak specs and available for charter.


I believe they also own at least on Milw rib-sided baggage car as well.

There is an armour yellow MILW sleeper parked at KCUS lettered for KCS but clearly of MILW origination (windows!) and I'll post a pic this evening. My internet at home is high speed but spotty and the upload doesn't work well. I presume this coach is headed for KCS biz train as its faded and the reporting marks are spray painted. It's parked on the house track (former track 27, west side of depot) along with other PV's.

Those are the ones. The station is a bike shop. The 4 cars are (were) little shops - all are currently for lease. The mock E unit is 35A. Next car is the NYC coach - number board missing. Next 2 coaches are Metropolitan Trans Authority cars. One missing number boards, other one is 2439. Last in line is the Milw road "Camp Randall" - no numbers painted on it. The track they are on is very light rail (90# or less) and isnt currently connected, but at one time, it was one of 13 tracks at the end of the yard crossing a busy 4 lane street - only one remains now.

I believe the Freight House restaurant in La Crosse,WI has a former Milwaukee Road passenger car as part of their collection. I'll get the details next time I am in town and will let you know.

Not sure of it's origin, but I believe there is a privately owned one at the Siouxland Historical Society, which is located at the former Milwaukee Road shops near Sioux City , iA.

Is the 261's "Wisconsin River" an actual Milwaukee Road car? It has all square windows. I don't know the answer, YOU tell me.
