Did the CRI&P ever own their own yard or yards in Chicago and if so what were the names?

Blue Island was a fairly big operation. I believe it was called Burr Oak, but am not certain on that.
I believe you are correct on that. Also, the Rock had the South Chicago branch which ended in a yard abutting the skyway and the NYC/PRR mains on the far southeast side. Not sure if BRC or Rock owned this yard, perhaps it was two yards side-by-side.
