Apparently Norfolk Southern is getting in on the fun too. They've rebuilt a few Dash 9s with AC traction. Theirs, however, retain traditional C trucks and have six traction motors, and are designated AC44C6M. Dash 9-40Cs 8799 and 8879, and Dash 9-44CW 8900 have been done so far. Thanks once again to Sean Graham-White for the information.

NS just released AC44C6M #4000, in a special (and possibly D&H-inspired?) paint scheme. This unit was originally built as a standard cab Dash 9-40C, and it received a new GE-built safety cab as part of its rebuild.

I just noticed that. Apologies for the dead link; apparently the photo has been deleted. I'm not sure why. As soon as another photo is made public, I'll post the link.
