The July - September 2016 Motor Coach Age is devoted to this subsidiary of the NP. All its officers were also officers of the NP. It was chartered in 1929 and began operations in 1932, in Montana, over roads that weren't paved yet. Many of its vehicles carried passengers and freight, including mail, the equivalent of mixed trains, to replace trains (sometimes gas electric cars ~ doodle bugs) on money loosing branches.
Buses and trains replaced each other when weather conditions required it. Railroad tickets were good on the buses.
