When did SEPTA adopt the standard orange livery on work vehicles? Was it from the beginning in the mid 1960s, inherited from legacy operators or dates to more recently (1970s-80s)?

As far as predecessors on the railroad division goes, Reading maintenance vehicles were painted yellow or dark blue with RDG logo's on the doors. Penn Central's maintenance vehicles were painted NYC Jade green. On the transit side, I can't honestly say when the current orange paint began but remember PTC vehicles painted in a dark green. I also remember that Amtrak began painting their MOW locomotives and cars orange in the mid 70's. The GP9's were dubbed The Great Pumpkins.
