While he hasn't posted here in awhile, I still feel it's appropriate to memorialize and announce the passing of a RR.net member, Bob Clearfield. In addition to his time on here, he was also a member of SEPTA's Citizens Advisory Board and was heavily involved in discussions about the SL-V project, NPT, and more.

Rest in peace.

That's terrible news. Bob was a strong transit advocate. His knowledge and balanced, well-reasoned views will be missed. RIP.

I havent been on the board for awhile even though I'm an Amtrak mod. For anyone who didnt know me, I was a septa engineer and then spent 10 years at Amtrak before going to metro north. I use to be very active in this forum and I grew accustomed to arguing with clearfield. He had his perspective as an outsider, and my perspective differed since I was a locomotive engineer. When I left septa and worked for Amtrak, I met Bob because he would commute out to Lancaster on my train. I use to have him ride up front so that he could see the operations. His stance on things softened up. I became good friends with Bob. He was a hellava great guy and once I heard of his passing, i was very bothered by it. We use to talk trains and Doctor Who all the time. It was nice to see that Scott created this post to remember the guy. He may be gone, but at least I have the memories. RIP Clearfield
