From what I've heard from a friend who has heard part of the story, everything goes back to the way it was prior to the Southwest Connection work, with the following changes:
- Elwyn loses its push-pull set in the AM; it goes to Trenton now as 1703/9728.
- No word on use of the MARC cars or return of the all-day set.
We will see come Monday morning....

CNJ: Which push-pull equipment set goes someplace north of Jenkintown in the morning and then returns south
during the afternoon for the PM rush hour? In my travels I spotted this train twice at JKT in one day - where do
they store this set for the day? I remember the Jenkintown Layoff was one place - but not this time...MACTRAXX

9526/9561, the Great Valley Flyer. Spends the day parked in the Glenside Layoff due to the platform demolition ongoing along the "0" Track at Fern Rock.

There was an afternoon Warminster run that returned through Jenkintown around 5:35. Not sure about the morning train.

The "All Day" Push Pull set runs from Warminster to Center City to Thorndale as 4571 passing Jenkintown around that time.

The "all day" push pull set has been operating with MU's for the past two weeks due to some of it's scheduled runs being sliced apart by the Southwest Corridor project.
This afternoon, I was out for the PM rush and noted push-pulls on 9553 (one car short), 9745, 6374, 6378 (in Powelton ready to roll), 9561, 9563 (with a loco on both ends, the rear unit dead in tow), and 1565. Those are all the scheduled PM assignments for the past two weeks, and it looks like they all finished up the two weeks running where the should have been. Seven sets of equipment, 41 cars operating, leaving only 3 spares at Frazer, since 2407 is down for its turn at the interior rehab and exterior re-striping.

By the way, take note of recently rehabbed cab car 2405. They neglected to apply the SEPTA logos to the right side of the car after re-striping.

Based on observations by myself and others today, here are the push-pull runs for the current schedule (August 5th). Seven sets of equipment are required (six 6-car sets, and I think one 5-car set, plus 3 spare cars and 1 cab car out for interior rehab (2407). MARC cars on the property are not in service at this time. There is no all-day push-pull set. Deadheads are not included.

Unofficially, next week. Most likely a couple/few weeks. No concrete dates from people I have spoken to.

I am curious if they will be used for rush hour runs or to bring back the "all day" push pull set.

One round trip in the peak on the Neshaminy Line.

Also, unrelated, but for those of you playing at home, 2407 has been outshopped, which means 4/10 control cars have been "overhauled."

Hopefully all the logos got properly applied on 2407 (2405 is missing both right-side logos, only has striping).
Related to the unrelated, 2410 has gone into the shop for its turn at the interior makeover.

No, they're only being leased, so they will remain as is.

MCG: The MARC cars are stainless steel with blue and orange decal sheet-type striping - there is not one
speck of paint on any of these cars. This is a pet peeve I have with the rail enthusiast community...
The words "Color Scheme" more accurately describes the colors used on any given rail equipment...

I thought the same thing when the LIRR leased MARC cars back during the Summer of 2017 and that they
would possibly change the color scheme to match the C3 cars but since they were under lease and were
going to be returned they ran as is - their blue and orange colors looked better then the NYS blue and
yellow used on the C3 cab cars and DM/DE30 locomotives. Two DE30s were modified to run with the MARC
cars and were in regular use all summer on their Port Jefferson Branch runs...MACTRAXX
