1565 Suburban - Thorndale 5:34

The rotation for the short set is a bit up in the air in light of the Arsenal Work.

Trains marked with a * will potentially be the MARC cars with a SEPTA motor and cab car.

Interesting to see the sets are now going to start running up to Trenton again. I presume you mean the 1502 is actually the early morning train from Malvern to Suburban.

This appears to be the same number of sets as before even with the MARC cars and even one set short in the evening. I would have thought they would have assigned a set or two to run on the Wilmington Newark Line into the lower level at 30th Street.

Is SEPTA leasing these cars, like they did a few summers ago when the Silverliner Vs went out of service? Or did they purchase them outright, like they did with NJT's old Comets?

Lease for right now. Marc #s 7745,7747,7748,7753,and 7755. All decommissioned cab cars. Ironing out some trainline issues to make compatible with existing equipment.

Add 9724 & 9524 AM and 9745 & 9559 PM, at least for the length of the Arsenal Project.

Remove the Short Set.

Yep, no all-day push-pull set for the duration.

Are the MARC cars in service? I haven't seen them around yet, at least on the West Trenton trains that I've been on.

I have not seen them hanging around Frazer either.

So are 9724 (which turns from 9745 after spending the night at Trenton) and 9728 (turns off 1703, which in turn comes off 1502). Assignments adjusted due to the Southwest Connection project at Arsenal, so this may only be for the duration of that job (this week and next week).

I do not believe any MARC cars have even arrived on SEPTA property yet... none of my friends who work out of Frazer have seen any there. If they are there, they must be well-hidden inside the shop building.

Anyway, as information, here are the push-pull assignments for the duration of the Southwest Corridor work. There is no 4-car all-day short set operating for the duration.

rcthompson04 wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2019 7:24 pm How many passengers do the MARC cars hold and would they be used as trailers or cab cars?
Pretty much the same as the SEPTA cars, 120 to 131 depending on if cab or trailer coach. They will be used as trailers only, mainly due to different ACSES display units (if they are cabs that even got equipped in the first place).
