I've been catching 2306 heading towards Roberts from North Broad around 9:25-9:30. Not sure where it is coming frmo.

I'll hopefully be visiting the Philadelphia area in late March 2017, and I'd like to scratch catching 2308 off my bucket list. Is there anywhere that she's likely to be and anywhere that is a good spotting location?

The best times to catch push pull trains are both of the rushes (AM and PM). As for the locations, there are lots of popular rail-fanning spots on the system. 30th Street Station (especially the Commuter Tunnel portal between 30th Street and Suburban) is one. Temple U station at rush hour is one that I've seen a lot. As for the locomotive itself, it could show up on any of the trains on any line that utilize the push-pull sets, meaning that it isn't assigned to one specific line/train.

-The Upper Platform at 30th St during the AM/PM rush is a great spot to catch the Septa push/pulls.

-Over the past few weeks I've seen #2308 on Trenton Line train #1745 heading for Trenton as I pass under the NEC on Castor Ave on my way home from work about 5:10 in the evening. Obviously this time of year it's too dark to get pictures, but at least it's been in service as of lately.

2308 broke down at Holmesburg Junction as train #1745 on November 18. I was riding that night. It has not been on the Trenton Line since.

Don't think NJT is willing(or allowed)to sell parts off those mothballed motors.
Some sort of Federal(US Gov) hold
Would not be surprised if parts were pulled from those motors for the ALP-46's.
