I've been meaning to post this for a couple of years now.
No el, no el, no el, no el,
SEPTA's running busses on the Market-Frankford Line.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grandma's coming over on a train, dear
When she comes to our house Christmas Eve
Aren't you glad there's such a thing as SEPTA?
And she'll also ride it when she has to leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Budd car horns, Budd car horns
Blowing all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
Car 2-6-9 today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[but the Budd cars are gone, replaced by the Silverliner V's]
Silver Fives, Silver Fives
We've got new trains in our city.
No P.A. squawk
Hear them talk
Next stop Airport Terminal A.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Yes, I know that the Terminal A wording is not exact, but I couldn't come up with another station with the "a" sound to match "day" in the original song. The closest alternative would be Me--di-a, withe the "a" at the end pronounced as "ay" rather than "uh". An Airport stop for holiday travel makes sense here, too.]

Soon you will need to be in your 60s in order to remember the 60s.
