It looks like NJT has a lot of extra service on all lines out of NYP and Hoboken this year on New Year's Eve (it seems to be more than years past).
But, my question is, why are the NEC trains stopping at the airport? There are few, if any flights at that time, and the purpose of these trains is to get revelers out of the city towards home as soon as possible, not people going to/ from the airport.

Airport hotels may not have been the intention but is a benefit of this stop. I can think of several cities where I stayed at "airport" hotels and used the shuttle to the airport for the sole purpose of grabbing public transit to the actual metropolis I was visiting. This probably goes doubly so for NYC New Years' Eve celebrations when it's next to impossible to get reasonably priced accommodations within range of normal public transit...
