I was in Garwood today and I noticed the NJT ballast cars sitting there on the Garwood Industrial track with no locomotive attached or to be seen.
Anyone know why they would just be sitting there doing nothing?

NJT gets all it's ballast from Stravola at Chimney Rock. If they were full the time may have been to close to morning rush for Amtrak to handle them. The engine(s) may have gone to the MMC or to Raritan.

The track gang has been surfacing and alingning the interlocking at Westfield.I think its called CLARK. I looked at the track this morning going into NY and could see fresh ballast around the whole plant.I know last week they were working at QUEEN interlocking in Plainfield. I guess now that winter is about over, its time for track repair season on the RVL.
