R68s on the IND Crosstown (G train)

According to some YouTube videos, the R68 fleet is now doing runs on the IND Brooklyn-Queens Crosstown. I'm unaware to why this unusual occurrence is happening. Or maybe it's more common than I know.

The R46s are being shifted over to the A and C lines (that way the R32s can start to be retired).

With the arrival of the R160s, the R68s (on the N and Q) are being assigned to the G.

I thought that the surviving R-32's were to be with us at least until 2015, and scrapped with the R-179's coming into service.

I think they will last until 2015 somewhere in the system.
