So i've noticed a few things recently:
They have begun yard expansion and replacement of some of the older yard track at the main facility by hudson interlocking. Big stacks of pre-assembled panels at the "west" end of the yard. Both wood and concrete ties are being used.
Anyone know what those concrete cylinder looking things are for? They sit kind of under the highway overpass near the NJT/freight yard before the freight flyover.
Also, new rail laying all over the place, anyone else noticing this?
What's on the menu here exactly? Are they doing a major track rehab finally? How about the new signal system?

No I'm not a railroad professional, but that doesn't mean I can't provide first hand observational comments.
