Fabrication of Brightliners (R-32, R-38, R-40, R-42)

I am trying to obtain information on the construction of these decommissioned cars, many of which have been used to build constructed reefs in the Mid-Atlantic. I am specifically interested in how the stainless steel skin was attached to the underframe or chassis (welded, rivets, glue?).
Thanks
