I will not miss them. I hate the "this is...". It drives an intelligent man like me crazy. Just the station stops is enough. I remember in the 70's when some made no announcements. What is this? Are people lonely that they have to listen to a loudspeaker? Also, today's people do not have the best speaking voices, if you know what I mean. I had to take speech and drama in school. It is not required and no employer should be footing the bill to teach them. Do you hear this all you "customer communications specialists?"

They would be saying the same thing if you made announcements too and just like a bad sound system can make your favorite band sound like crap so too can a bad sound system on a train make a conductor sound like crap
