Subway Station Tiles In Older Subway Stations

What are those type of tiles are called are used in the IRT,BMT and IND older subway stations?

They are ceramic tiles.

They're actually a mix of ceramic and opal glass tiles. I believe Jay Street Metro Tech has the glass ones on the R platform.
